Sophomore year sweetens up once reality kicks in

I remember — there I was, standing in front of the mirror on the first day of school, thinking about what this day was going to bring!

My first day of my sophomore year, and I was so nervous – new hallways, new teachers, new everything, and I was scared! I knew that once I was in the doors of Greenwood High School there was no turning back.

It’s very different being a sophomore than being a freshman. You have a lot more responsibility. The teachers don’t baby you, they stay on top of you about your work and grades.

Now that it’s farther into the year, being a sophomore is pretty great – not as bad as I thought it was going to be. I like that the teachers stay on you about your work. They are trying to help you get prepared for your junior and senior year.

Growing up is a part of life, and being a sophomore is growing up. You have a lot of things to do in school now, lots of tests to study for and more homework.

The best part about being a sophomore is that you’re not at the bottom of the food chain anymore like you were when you were a freshman! I also love that at pep rallies we get to sit with the older kids too, so it makes me feel like I’m older! After all, being a sophomore isn’t too bad. Nothing I can’t handle. I’m having a great year so far, and lets hope it stays that way!
