Babysitting my brothers is conflicting

Cheyenne Casbeer, guest writer

As I walk into the house, the familiar scent of strawberry cheesecake candles greets me, and the house is silent and dark, but soon two rowdy boys will follow, and my fun-filled, sometimes crazy job as a babysitter, will soon begin.

As a babysitter, I have to be responsible, good with kids, and cooperate with their already established schedules.

For me, babysitting is extremely fun because I babysit my brothers, and we get along great, and I get to spend time with them. On the other hand, babysitting my brothers can sometimes be a challenge because they see me more as a sister than a babysitter.

At the same time, it can be hard for me to act as a babysitter and not as a big sister who lets them have that extra piece of candy. Also, because I’m their sister, they don’t always listen to me, but at the end of the day, it pays off because I get to help with homework, and, when they make good grades, I get to feel accomplished because I helped them!
