We are Greenwood.
Amongst all the cheers, chants and t-shirts our community has this phrase is my favorite.
You see, We ARE Greenwood.
We are not Midland Greenwood. That would liken us to Robert E Lee High School, known as Midland Lee of Midland ISD. We are not a part of Midland ISD.
We are Greenwood.
We are a community in Midland County and pay taxes to Greenwood Independent School District.
We are Greenwood.
We are residents of county roads patrolled by the sheriff’s department and live without city lights.
We are Greenwood.
We did not vote for the Midland Mayor nor any other matters of the city of Midland.
We are Greenwood.
Call us Greenwood of Midland County or the Greenwood Community, for we are not Greenwood, Texas.
We are Greenwood.
We are a proud country school that is busting at the seams not only with people but with pride.
We are Greenwood.
We do not have city limits. We do not have a courthouse. We are run by a school board and a superintendent that love this school district to their core.
We are Greenwood.
Our community began in 1924. We are named after the Greenwood Baptist Church – which was named after two missionaries, Reverend Green and Reverend Wood.
We are Greenwood.
We educate, teach, play, coach and learn on land donated by the John M King Family.
We are Greenwood.
We were consolidated in 1948 from three country school houses: Prairie Lee, McClintic and Stokes to become Greenwood Independent School District.
We are Greenwood.
We receive our mail by a Midland address yet,
We are Greenwood.
We are a community based on our roots of faith in God the Father, we pray together, cheer together and support one another.
We are Greenwood.
Call us Greenwood ISD. Call us Greenwood of Midland County. Call us Greenwood in West Texas. Please understand we are unique, we are the Rangers, we are the white & blue.
We are Greenwood.
Say it loudly, say it proudly.
We are Greenwood.
