Barbara Cherry started teaching at Greenwood High School  in 1987. After 30 years, Cherry retires from teaching. She plans on moving to North Padre Island, and she’s going to look for another career, perhaps as a journalist or photographer.

“I have a brand new life waiting on me, but I still like this one. I get a kick out of my students,” Cherry said.

She is trying to get the yearbook and newspaper staff well trained so they will be a blessing for the new teacher.

“Be confident next year without me,” she said.

She absolutely enjoyed her years here at Greenwood.
