New english teacher Katie Priest joins the Rangers

There are a lot of new Rangers joining this year and one of them is new teacher Katie Ruth Priest.

“My husbands’ name is Travis. We don’t have any human kids, only furr babies.. a dog and a cat, ” she said.

She teaches English I, and is a Pure Barre instructor in Midland. This is a fitness facility.

The message Priest wants to leave for her student is always to keep an open mind.

“Even if you don’t like the subject, there is always something to learn from it,” she said.

She chose to teach because she enjoys mentoring/tutoring students, and has been teaching for three years.  The schools she has taught at are: Ridgeland High in Mississippi, Lee Road Jr. High in Louisiana, and Lee Freshman in Midland. She went to high school at Ridgeland, Mississippi, and went to college at Mississippi State.

“I was actually a communication major in college,” Priest said on why she decided to choose to teach English I She said that she also likes history.
