New freshman English teacher, Nate Bridges, joined the staff.

He began his high school education at Odessa Permian but finished and graduated high school from Levelland. Bridges then went on to South Plains College but transferred and graduated from Wayland Baptist University with a major in English. Bridges jokingly said the reason he became a teacher was he, “didn’t have much choice,” because he is a “3rd generation teacher/coach.”

He chose to teach English because he had always taken an interest in it. He also coaches the basketball and track teams.

Before he moved his wife of 12 years and his two children, a daughter of five and a son of three, to Greenwood, he taught at Denton Guyer, Lubbock-Cooper, and Odessa High School.

To prepare for this school year he, “did research on (his) subject area and planned.” The main thing Bridges would like his students to to take from his class is to, “(l)earn something new every day!”

His favorite activities to participate in outside of school are spending time with his family, traveling, going to the lake and mountains, and spending time at church.

He loves “being a Greenwood Ranger” and is “glad for (his) family to be Rangers as well!”
