Merritt takes on teaching as a second career

As the school year or 2017- 2018 begins we have gained many teachers. One such as Shannon Merritt, the new geometry teacher.

She has been married to Landon Merritt for 13 years. She has two children, a daughter in kindergarten and a son in second grade. Her education consisted of a high school diploma from Woodlands High School in Woodland, Texas. Later she received her masters degree from Texas Tech University.

Merritt did not choose to teach as her first job. She began careers as an architect. Then she began teaching for her family.

“I became a teacher so that I could not only help my family out but spend more time with my kids,” Merritt said.
