GHS student council cleans up trash on 307

Student Council has dedicated their high school year to better our school, community, and themselves. One of their biggest community outreach is the Student Council Trash Pickup. Every year, the students pick a day to spend cleaning FM 307.

“We like to take care of our community and spread a message that if we all do our part, we can make a difference,” said Evrin Galindo, soon to be Student Council President.

They have ‘adopted’ that stretch of road through the Adopt a Highway program. This year, 22  students collected over 50 bags of trash.

“Despite what certain students may say, each member of the council plays an important part,”  said Galindo.

If you are interested in joining, meetings are Monday mornings before school at 8 in Mrs. Pantoja’s classroom.
