The band will march at State contest on Monday in San Antonio at the Alamodome. On Saturday, Oct. 29, the Greenwood Ranger Band performed in the Area Marching contest and made it to the State UIL marching competition for the first time in GHS history.

At Area, they made it to seventh place and were able to advance to the semi-finals. They performed again that night and won second place which advanced them to State.

They got this far because on Oct. 22, they went to the UIL marching contest where they were the only 4A school that got division I ratings from every judge. This let them advance to the Area Marching contest.

Lastly, on Oct. 1, the West Texas Tournament of Bands was held as a practice competition for the upcoming ones. They did not place in the contest, but that did not discourage them from going on and doing better.
