Thor brings the thunder

Thor returns to save the world in “Thor: The Dark World.” Better and more action-filled than the first, The Dark World is one of the best superhero movies for the year and is taking the theaters by storm. I would definitely recommend it to anyone who is a fan of the Avengers or superheroes in general and is a fan of action movies.

The Dark World takes place two years after the destruction of the Bifrost; from the first movie. Thor and his comrades are fighting the final battle to bring peace to all of the nine realms, following the events from two years ago.

Thor is told by Heimdall, the guardian of Asgard, that the Convergence is starting, which is a great event that happens once every 5,000 years where all of the nine realms become aligned. Thor goes to Heimdall and asks how Jane Foster, a physicist from the first movie, is doing on Earth.

Heimdall looks and tells Thor that he can’t see her, which prompts Thor to go and find her. When he arrives on Earth, he finds that she is infected with something that he hasn’t ever seen before. He takes her back to Asgard to see if they can cure her. Odin, Thor’s father and king of Asgard, discovers that she is infected with energy called “the Aether” – a destructive force of energy that comes from the Dark World, once home of the Dark Elves.

With the discovery of the Aether, the Dark Elves’ leader, Malekith, awakens from his deep sleep and seeks to destroy the Asgardians and the nine realms. Thor must rise up to the challenge and face this new evil or the universe will be lost to the darkness for good.
