Boys track champs place third in District

     The boys Varsity track team finished third place in District and the Junior Varsity finished second.

     District results for JV boys are Austin Timm with second place in the 100 meter dash and fifth place in the 200 meter dash, Dustin Rea with first place in the 200 meter dash, Yahir DeSantiago with second place in the 400 meter dash, Gilbert Franco with fourth place in the 400 meter dash, Logan Knapp with second place in the 800 meter run, Samuel Urias with second place in the 1600 meter run, Reid Clanton with third place in the 1600 meter run, Urias with third place in the 3200 meter run and Reid with fourth place in the 3200 meter run. The 4×100 meter relay placed second with runners Braydlin Moreland, Timm, Ryan Vasquez, and Bryan Zubia. The 4×200 meter relay placed first with runners Colin Sullivan, DeSantiago, Rea, and Franco. The 4×400 meter relay placed second with Rea, Franco, Sullivan, and DeSantiago. Field event results are Franco with fourth place in long jump, Moreland with sixth place in long jump, Rickey Harcrow with second place in shot put, Eduardo Gabaldon with sixth place in shot put, Harcrow with sixth place in discus, Franco with first place in triple jump, DeSantiago with second place in tiple jump and Rea with second place in high jump. Top athletes for the JV boys are Franco and Rea with second place and DeSantiago with fourth place.

     The varsity District results are Trey Cave with fourth place in the 100 meter dash, Alex Lara with sixth place in the 200 meter dash, Tony Navarez with first place in the 400 meter dash, Zane Helms with fifth place in the 400 meter dash, Navarez with first place in the 800 meter run, Elam Tavarez with second place in the 800 meter run, Zac Martin with second place in the 1600 meter run, Martin with third place in the 3200 meter run and Anthony Madrid with fourth place in the 3200 meter run. The 4×100 meter relay places fourth with runners Cole Barton, Cody Coss, Hunter Rose, and Cave. The 4×200 meter relay placed fourth with runners Daniel Vizcaino, Lara, Cave, and Coss. The 4×400 meter relay placed second with Lara, Vizcaino, Tavarez, and Navarez. Field event results for the varsity boys are Lara with third place in triple jump, Cave with first place in pole vault, and Mason Fraley with sixth place in pole vault. Top athletes for the varsity boys are Navarez with second place and Cave with eighth place.

     The District champions were Cave in pole vault and Navarez in the 400-meter dash and in the 800-meter run.

     Regional qualifiers are Navarez in both the 400 meter dash and 800 meter run, Tavarez in the 800 meter run, Lara in triple jump, Cave in pole vault, and Martin in both the 3200 meter run and the 1600 meter run. The 4×400 meter relay also qualified for regionals with runners Navarez, Vizcaino, Tavarez, and Lara. Regional alternates are Madrid, Barton, Coss, and Rose.

     JV boys were also District runner-ups.
