Theatre I will be holding its first plays very soon, according to Tara Granberry, the Theatre I teacher. However, there is no set date. The plays will be during school. Tech Theatre is assigned to direct a play. The directors pick their plays, but the play for the elementary is still undecided. The directors include Zeph Kenna, Brody Geer, Tammie Nelson, JJ  Kinney, Tyleigh Taylor, Colton Cline, and Wendy Caldera.

Senior J.J. Kinney describes directing a play as, “Different.” He said that it is a new experience to teach other people to how act on stage.

Some plays are directed by partners, like senior Tammie Nelson and sophomore Brody Geer. They are directing the two plays “Check Please” and “Check Please Take 2.” They said it was easier to direct in partners, but it’s still stressful getting all of the actors to cooperate with one another and the directors.

“It’s really fun to see what theatre kids chose for their plays. I see a lot of growth in the younger actors,” Granberry said.

She believed it gave the students someone they can relate to better than herself. She said it is easier for the students to grow as actors with a fellow student as the director.

Sophomores Tiara Burch and Aubree Rivera described their parts as “awkward” because of the many romantic scenes in their plays. They go on to say that they are having fun in their rehearsals.
